Jose Mourinho could well be treading on thin ice at Stamford Bridge |
AFTER Chelsea crashed to their seventh Premier League defeat of the season at West Ham, Express Sport takes a look at possible Jose Mourinho replacements.
Pep Guardiola
Pep Guardiola is the bookies' favourite to take over at Stamford Bridge, although he is unlikely to be available until the summer.
There has been talk of the Spaniard leaving the Allianz for pastures new with Manchester City being touted as a possible destination.
However, should the Chelsea job become available who's to say he wouldn't fancy his chances in the Premier League with the defending champions? 6/1
Diego Simeone could be lured away from Atletico Madrid |
Diego Simeone
Similarly to Guardiola, Diego Simeone is unlikely to leave his post at Atletico Madrid mid-season, so any potential move would most probably be next term.
However, the Argentinian has strong roots with the club having twice played for them between 1994 and 2005 and may be difficult to lure away from the Vicente Calderon.
Having said that he's proven he has the credentials to manage at the top level, leading Atletico to La Liga title in 2013/14 and the Champions League final. 8/1
Carlo Ancelotti
Carlo Ancelotti is one of the most experienced managers currently out of work after being let go by Real Madrid over the summer.
The Italian won the Premier League and FA Cup with the Blues in the 2009/10 season and has made clear his intentions to get back into management.
However, the appointment would again be unlikely given the fact that Roman Abramovich already got rid of the 56-year-old. 12/1
Ronald Koeman is an outside shout at 14/1 |
Ronald Koeman
Southampton boss Ronald Koeman has also been put into the mix for the top job at Chelsea after an impressive spell on the south coast.
The Dutchman guided Saints to a seventh-place finish last term after starting the season in the top four for a number of weeks.
The former Barcelona man has also got the credentials, winning the Eredivise on three occasions with Ajax and PSV Eindhoven. 14/1
