CHELSEA starlet Ruben Loftus-Cheek was hailed as a "Rolls Royce" player by Stuart Pearce after his impressive display for England Under 21s.
Gareth Southgate's side beat Kazakhstan 3-0 in their European Under 21 Championship qualifier at the Ricoh Arena, where Loftus-Cheek capped a fine night with a goal.
The 19-year-old midfielder opened the scoring before Nathan Redmond and Chuba Akpom rounded off a comfortable victory.
And Pearce reserved special praise for Loftus-Cheek, insisting there is nothing stopping him reaching the top of the game.
"He's a Rolls Royce of a player there's no doubt," he said.
"You know, confident on the ball. I'd like to see, I mean, we saw a few clips before the game about how he drives with energy, I'd liked to have seen a bit more of that tonight.
"Because I think he can do near enough anything in the game."
Loftus-Cheek's club boss Jose Mourinho has also taken notice and is preparing to give him a run in the Chelsea team.
Mourinho's side have struggled to recreate last season's title-winning form and the youngster could be the benefactor as the Portuguese looks to kickstart the campaign.
"Clearly it is time. Not to play four, five or six kids - some are not ready - but Ruben is a case where he's more ready," he said.
"And if everything goes normal during the next two weeks, he's a player to start the next game and a run of matches, to try and get that stability as a first-team choice."
