CRISTIANO RONAlDO will leave Real Madrid next summer, according to Spanish football expert Guillem Balague.
Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has been interested in bringing the Portuguese forward back to Old Trafford since taking charge a year ago.
The Dutch tactician is reportedly prepared to spend £92.5million to get his man, but Balague believes Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain are the favourites to land him.
Ronaldo spent eight successful years at United before leaving for the Bernabeu in 2009 for £80m.
And Balague believes Ronaldo's representatives are looking to find the 30-year-old a new club, despite Ronaldo revealing earlier this week that he wants to retire at Real.
He told Sky Sports: "There is a strategy in place from his people and it looks like this could be the last season of Ronaldo at Real Madrid.
"It also looks as though Real Madrid aren't completely unhappy that this is the case.
"This sounds amazing, when you look at the records he's gained, probably the best goalscorer in their history, but perhaps Real Madrid believe he has peaked.
"I've got the impression these people are feeling PSG will be the best solution. I don't think he will be at Real Madrid that long."
Ronaldo claimed a record fourth Golden Shoe earlier this week, having previously claimed the award at United in 2007-08 and at Madrid in 2010-11 and 2013-14.
