New deal could scupper Man Utd hopes as injured midfielder set to extend stay at Roma
Kevin Strootman could sign a new deal to extend his stay at Roma
ROMA are preparing to offer injured midfielder Kevin Strootman a new deal, according to reports in Italy.

Gazetta World claim the Serie A giants are keen to put a show of faith in the Holland international despite his long-term absence.
The 25-year-old underwent knee surgery in September for the the third time.
He is expected to be back in January at the earliest and should make a full recovery from the injury that has plagued his time in the Italian capital.
The Dutchman was heavily linked with Manchester United before his move from PSV in 2013 and manager Louis van Gaal is known to be a long-term admirer from his time as Holland boss.

However, news of the extended deal could end any hopes he had of bringing him to Old Trafford in the future.
Since his £14million switch to Rome, Strootman has been restricted to just 31 Serie A appearances.
Reports claim the new deal on the table would keep him at the Stadio Olimpico beyond 2018.
