Mauricio Pochettino says the upheaval of a new manager can give Tottenham the edge of Liverpool |
MAURICIO POCHETTINO believes Tottenham can capitalise on Liverpool’s instability following Jurgen Klopp’s appointment.
The German was announced as Liverpool’s new boss last week, following Brendan Rodgers’ sacking after the 1-1 draw in the Merseyside derby.
And with the international break, Klopp has had very little time to instil his ideas and tactics into the first-team players.
And Pochettino admits it’s a feeling he knows only too well, after taking over from Nigel Adkins at Southampton in 2013.
He said: “My experience from Southampton is I had three days to prepare the game against Everton and you work very hard to try to settle on some ideas.
“But it is impossible to put all the ideas and the philosophy across to the team, but always when you try and change something it’s not easy.
“It is difficult also because you need to put some ideas across to give the players the ideas and the tools to play in the way that you want to.
Tottenham host Liverpool at White Hart Lane this Saturday (12.45pm) and will be looking to continue their seven-game unbeaten run.
