CHELSEA midfielder Cesc Fabregas may be rested for Spain's Euro 2016 qualifier in Ukraine tonight.
The 28-year-old played 90 minutes in his country's 4-0 win over Luxembourg on Friday night.
He is one game away from his 100th Spain appearance, having made his debut in 2006.
But manager Vicente del Bosque has hinted that the player may not get a run out and could instead earn his ton in a friendly with England next month.
"(Fabregas) is one of the important players in the squad and we are very happy that he will soon reach 100 games," Del Bosque said.
"I don’t know whether I will play him tomorrow.
"If he doesn’t gain his 100th cap against Ukraine, he will in Alicante in a month’s time against England.”
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho would no doubt want Fabregas fresh for the return of club football this weekend, when the Blues take over Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge.
He has started all but one game for the defending Premier League champions this season and boasts a goal and two assists so far.
