WAYNE ROONEY is a doubt for England's Euro 2016 qualifier with Estonia on Friday after sitting out training due to injury.
Rooney will be presented with a Golden Boot at Wembley in recognition of becoming the country's all-time leading scorer last month when a penalty against Switzerland brought him his 50th international goal.
Sir Bobby Charlton, whose record Rooney broke, will make the award but the England captain is now in danger of missing the game due to a knock sustained in Manchester United's defeat by Arsenal.
Young Everton defender John Stones will also miss out through injury, replaced by Kyle Walker |
Rooney was this week backed to lead England to glory by David Beckham, but is expected to miss training again today at St George's Park.
Danny Ings and Jonjo Shelvey were also absent yesterday for training, while Everton's John Stones has withdrawn from the squad with a knee injury.
Tottenham duo Andros Townsend and Kyle Walker have been drafted in by manager Roy Hodgson.
