Liverpool deal for Jurgen Klopp favourite is on the cards but Marco Reus set to stay
Neven Subotic is a realistic transfer target for Liverpool
LIVERPOOL could strike a deal with Borussia Dortmund for defender Neven Subotic, according to German football expert Raphael Honigstein.

The Reds have been linked with a number of Dortmund players ever since the German giants' former boss Jurgen Klopp took the reins at Anfield.
Klopp insists he has no intention of raiding his old club for their best players, despite speculation surrounding the futures of Marco Reus, Mats Hummels and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

However, while the sought-after trio could well stay put in Germany, Honigstein thinks Subotic is a realistic option as he is a firm favourite of Klopp and has fallen down the pecking order at the Westfalenstadion under Thomas Tuchel.
“His former CEO and chairman at Dortmund said Klopp wouldn’t target any of his players,” Honigstein told Bt Sport.
“There is probably a deal to be made with Subotic, who has been out of favour.

Jurgen Klopp is understood to have had a good relationship with Subotic at Borussia Dortmund
“He is one of the few players who was personally picked by Klopp for Dortmund when he was at Mainz.
"Most of the players were bought by the club rather than him.”
The Serbia international was a key part of Klopp's side that won back-to-back Bundesliga titles in 2011 and 2012 and finished as runners-up in the Champions League in 2013.
Since moving to Dortmund in 2008, the 26-year-old has made 244 appearances for the club.
