This young woman lost an incredible amount of weight in just over a year |
ONE young lady has lost a whopping 15 stone in 15 months, and is pleased to be showing off her incredible new figure.
Kaitlyn Smith lost a staggering 15 stone in 15 months, and has now undergone surgery to remove 34lbs of excess skin.
At her heaviest the 5ft 5 beauty weighed a hefty 29.5 stone and was advised to seek gastric bypass surgery - but after a bad experience with a rude surgeon she turned to a body coach for help.
Working out six times a week pumping iron and healthy eating, the 20-year-old was able to shed the pounds with great ease.
Speaking about her journey, she said: "There was nothing easy about this journey, it was very hard especially at first. My body ached from workouts and some days I didn't think I would make it.
"I had to learn how to make my foods healthy. I never had a cheat meal or day for the first year and a half.
"I'm the only one in my family to eat healthy so I had to learn to be self-disciplined whenever we went out and they ate things I wanted.
"The hardest part was the mental aspect of it - I was my biggest bully and talked to myself horribly. I had to realise I was worth more, and to work past those negative thoughts."
But, as many will testify, if you lost a great deal of weight there's another issue that arises: excess skin.
After shedding the pounds, Kaitlyn decided it was the right time to go under the knife to get her body back to its best.
Hitting the gym six times a week meant Kaitlyn saw a fast loss |
After the surgery, Kaitlyn was very happy with her body |
She booked in for a tummy tuck, a Brazilian bottom lift and removal of skin from her chest, back and arms.
With her final operation in September Kaitlyn, from Oregon, USA, revealed her new figure for the first time.
Initially a GoFundMe page was created to help cover the medical costs, but after hearing about her battle online Miami surgeon, Dr. Michael Salzhauer, provided the operations for free.
She said: "Losing 208lbs left me with lots of excess skin which leads to many complications such as infections, tearing, smells, irritation, joint pains, pulling and mental issues.
"You lose all this weight and you just want to feel beautiful in your own skin - but you feel like you're sitting in your old shell, that you want to break out of.
The youngster looks thrilled after her incredible weight loss and surgery |
"I'm always trying new things and not taking a thing for granted.
"I am no longer a bitter, envious, depressed teenager. I am a happy, smiley, outgoing girl who loves herself and life."
The tenacious youngster runs a blog to encourage others to keep fit and healthy and with 55,000 followers on social media, has hopes of turning it into a full-time career.
