Robin van Persie has found it tough going at Fenerbahce

FORMER Barcelona defender Frank De Boer thinks Robin van Persie would thrive at the Nou Camp were he to join.

Van Persie, who used to play for Arsenal, joined Fenerbahce on a three-year deal from Manchester United this summer.

Reports have suggested that the Dutchman is unsettled with the Turkish giants, which has alerted Barcelona.

The La Liga powerhouse are believed to have sent scouts to watch Fenerbahce in action against Ajax.

Barca are thought to be keen to provide cover for Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi and Neymar.

And De Boer is in no doubt Van Persie could revitalise his career in Spain.

“If he transfers to Barcelona, this would be a good chance for him,” De Boer said.

"You have to give him a chance. He is a player who can play at that level."
