Facebook has FINALLY ditched its least useful messaging feature
FACEBOOK is making emails from STRANGERS much easier to find.

Facebook has decided to ditch Other Inbox.
The frustrating feature was previously used as a repository for any messages sent from strangers, or people with pending Facebook friend requests.
Facebook does not send a notification when users receive a message in this often-overlooked inbox.
Worse still, the Facebook Messenger client for iPhone does not even offer users a way to access the inbox.

As a result messages could quickly stack-up in the Other Inbox.
Unearthing the Other inbox, the NewsNewsBlog.blogspot.com team found an email from a kind stranger about a wallet lost on a train in 2013.
Another team member stumbled across a message sent by a competition organiser to let them know they were the lucky winner of a digital camera.
Thankfully, Facebook is replacing the Other Inbox with a new feature called Message Requests.

Facebook has FINALLY ditched its least useful messaging feature
Facebook previously used Other Inbox from your web browser, within the Facebook Messages drop-down
The new feature –which will begin rolling out across the globe today – allows users to reach out to others in a more prominent way so long as they have your full name.
Message Request accepts any message from someone with your full name, as it appears on Facebook, and features the message in your main inbox.
Messages from strangers are bundled with a new notification box at the top of your Messenger queue.
Tapping on the notification allows you to check some basic information on the sender, including their name, where they live, as well as any mutual friends on the social network.
If you don't want to communicate – Facebook allows you to shutdown the conversation from within the main Inbox.

Facebook has FINALLY ditched its least useful messaging feature
Facebook Messenger allows users to send messages with just a phone number
With some 700 million people around the world using Facebook Messenger, the US social network is introducing a number of new features to the messenger client.
Earlier this year, Facebook started to allow people without Facebook accounts to use Facebook Messenger.
Users now only need to register with Facebook Messenger with a genuine mobile phone number – similar to the sign-up process pioneered by WhatsApp.
Facebook software engineer Louis Boval said: “With Messenger, we’ve been focused on creating the best messaging experience possible by giving people a fun and easy way to connect and express themselves with friends and contacts.
“With this update, more people can enjoy all the features that are available on Messenger – including photos, videos, group chats, voice and video calling, stickers and more.
“All you need is a phone number.”
The latest update to Facebook Messenger places more emphasis on your real name, rather than your phone number.
