Destiny Taken King update: Bungie to make changes ahead of surprise new content release
Bungie are bringing new changes to Destiny with the launch of the new update
DESTINY developer, Bungie say they plan to make more changes to the game ahead of the release of newly planned surprise content, while fans themselves continue their quest for new Taken King secrets.

The studio have announced their designs for Destiny's Year Two phase, revealing that they plan to add Taken King microtransactions, while also providing free DLC content through new quests and loot drops.
Bungie say these changes will be kicked off by Destiny Update 2.01, which will also include a revamp that will affect players who favour the shotgun.
Senior Designer Jon Weisnewski told fans via the Bungie blog: With the deployment of Update 2.0.1, we will wholesale remove the Shot Package perk from all Shotguns.
"Any shotgun with Shot Package (depending on the exact weapon) will now have Close and/or Personal, Crowd Control, or Knee Pads. This change has not negatively impacted our PVE playtests.
"Even though Shot Package is going away right now, expect to continue seeing Shotguns used to great effect by Crucible warriors."

The Taken King Sleeper Simulant was a new secret fans had to unravel
Community manager, David Dague also took the chance to hint at some of the new surprises that Bungie have in store for fans.
Following the success of the Sleeper Simulant quest, which saw a host of Guardians take on the meaty exotic challenge, Dague teased: "We’ve started a conversation about how we’ll keep Destiny fresh in the months to come. It all starts next week with Destiny Update 2.0.1.
"Over the course of a year scored by game updates that delivered new features and playable moments, the Live Team has grown.
"Their charter to keep the world of the game alive with new experiences that everyone can share is unchanged and they’ve added some muscle to help them carry that mission forward. Eververse Trading will be their benefactor.
"How their efforts will manifest in the Tower and beyond will all be part of the surprise that keeps on surprising."

Bungie have hailed the Taken King's Sleeper Simulant quest a success, revealing that they will continue seeking a way to surprise fans with new weapons.
"Our challenge is balancing between the secrecy that makes these hunts exciting, and transparency that could spoil the fun for the hunters," Design Lead Tyson Green commented.
"As long as the community is giving us feedback, we’ll keep seeking the ideal balance."
But for those who missed out on the new Fusion Rifle and feel a little bitter whenever they get taken down by the elusive weapons, there may be a new way to seek revenge.

Destiny fans can look forward to new DLC content from Bungie

Fans playing in the Crucible have found that the Sleeper Simulant shares a design flaw found in other guns, namely that an exotic sword can be used to reflect its laser.
Not only can the laser be shrugged off but actually hits back at the opposing player.
The sword block was provided by a hunter and means that fans with the right weapon can add it to the list of Destiny weaponry that can't handle the heat.
