Destiny down: Bungie take Taken King offline as update 2.01 draws near
Destiny Update 2.0.1 arrives Tuesday with the new Eververse Trading Company
BUNGIE have warned fans that Destiny will be down for the arrival of Update 2.01, and with it all the first changes to The Taken King.

The studio say the game is scheduled to go offline at 5pm, UK time for around two hours, although past updates have taken longer to complete.
Players signed in shortly before maintenance will be notified via in-game messaging and once it is concluded, Destiny fans will regain access to all services and login functionality.
Bungie also warned that some Bungie.net sign-in and Companion app services may be restricted during this time as well.
Bungie.net, and with it the the fan forum, was taken offline today for similar maintenance that lasted over four hours.

Tess Everis will be back in the Destiny Tower
Destiny: The Taken King will see the grand opening of the Eververse Trading Company with update 2.0.1, which will add microtransactions and new weapon balancing.
Tess Everis will lead the venture at The Tower, sporting a new look, along with new items to sell, which will include eighteen emotes that are completely optional to the game.
Fans will have the chance to try out the new system, along with its in-game currency "Silver" after the launch, as Bungie plan to put some in every Destiny players account.
It will mean fans on Xbox and PlayStation platforms will be able to buy an emote or two without having to spend any cash, whilst playing the game between now and and December will also allow players to earn free Silver, Bungie has confirmed.

Community manager, David Dague says the inclusion of the Eververse Trading Company will allow them to offer new quests and missions for the foreseeable future, leaving behind paid-for DLCs and expansions until next year.
Destiny Update 2.0.1 will also include weapon balancing and the removal of the Shot Package perk from all Shotguns.
A recent post by Bungie on the release of Destiny update 2.01 explains: "The Tower will be a festive place to be next week. Tess will be there.
"Lord Saladin will be there. We hope you’ll be there, too. In fact, if you’re a player of Destiny, you’ll have some Silver in your account when Eververse Trading opens their new shop.
"If you appear in the game between now and December, you’ll get even more Silver."
