Danny Welbeck: Why criticism of Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is unjustified

Danny Welbeck is yet to play for Arsenal this season but he backed his manager

DANNY WELBECK has admitted he does not understand why Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been criticised of late.

 

Wenger has come under fire following humiliating defeats to West Ham, Dinamo Zagreb and Olmypiakos.

Welbeck, 24, missed those defeats and is yet to make a single appearance for the Gunners this season after undergoing knee surgery.

However the former Manchester United man believes that critics have been too quick to pile pressure on the Frenchman.

He told The National: "I can only speak for myself, and I've not been there as long as some of the other players.

"Obviously, Arsene's done a great job at Arsenal, and you can't really fault what he's done. When I've been there he's been great with me and great with the other lads as well from what I've seen.

"People are entitled to their own opinion. It doesn't mean what they say is right."
