Former Jurgen Klopp signing reveals strict side to new Liverpool boss

FORMER Borussia Dortmund star Patrick Owomoyela has opened up on new Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.

 

The German tactician signed a three-year deal at Anfield last week as the successor of Brendan Rodgers, who was sacked after three trophyless seasons.

And the former Mainz and Borussia Dortmund manager charmed the media in his first Liverpool press conference on Friday with his witty and honest answers.

But Owomoyela, who Klopp signed for Dortmund back in 2008, insists there is a strict side to the 48-year-old - especially when it comes to the punctuality of his players. 

"There were a lot of rules," Owomoyela said. "If you weren't on time then you would be fined, and the second time he'd talk to you. He will make sure it's not happening for a third time.

"If you don't dedicate yourself to the team, he won’t let you get away with it and will tell you. 

"But the way he works with the players, it mostly works out well for everybody and that means they are following his rules."
