Ramires has penned a new a new long-term contract with the Blues which keeps him at the club until the summer of 2019.
The Brazilian has made 241 appearances since his arrival from Benfica in 2010 and had featured 12 times this season.
He said: "I am very happy to sign a new contract with Chelsea. My family and I are very happy here in London.
"In the past five years the club has lifted every major trophy. I hope to be an important part of many more successes in the next four years."

Shakthar Donetsk striker Alex Teixeira is keen for a move to the Premier League in January.
Teixeira - who has 16 goals in 11 games in the Ukrainian Premier League this season - admits he would consider an exit should Jose Mourinho's side come in for him.
"I'm glad to hear a club as big as Chelsea is interested on me," he told GloboEsporte.com.
"It would be important to play a tournament such as the Premier League, and better yet if it came in January. I'm welcoming a new challenge."

Diego Costa has been linked with a sensational move to Barcelona.
According to Spanish outlet Don Balon, Luis Enrique is in search of a target man for his side and the Brazilian has been identified as an option.
Costa's agent Jorge Mendes is reportedly trying to secure a way out of Stamford Bridge for his client following Chelsea's poor start to the season.
The 27-year-old has managed just three goals for the Blues this campaign that sees them 15th in the Premier League table.
