Harry Kane showed his back to his goal-scoring best with a hat-trick |
TOTTENHAM ran riot against Premier League strugglers Bournemouth to record a convincing 5-1 victory at Dean Court.
The Cherries opened the scoring inside the first minute thanks to matt Ritchie, but things quickly turned sour.
Spurs were level just seven minutes later courtesy of a Harry Kane penalty and then it was one-way traffic for the Londoners.
Mousa Demebele doubled their lead on 16 minutes, before Erik Lamela got in on the action before half time.
And Mauricio Pochettino's side came out flying in the second half, with Kane completing his hat-trick inside 65 minutes.
Things couldn't have started better for Eddie Howe's men after a Charlie Daniels ball into the box was finished neatly by Ritchie after 49 seconds.
But they failed to seize on the momentum of the early goal and Artur Boruc brought down Kane in the box, who cooly levelled from the resulting penalty.
A rare goal from Belgium international Demebele followed, a left footed finish from the centre of the box following a free-kick.

And by the 30-minute mark Spurs were running riot, Lamela tucking home from close range to take them into the break sitting pretty.
But Pochettino's men weren't finished there and came out the traps flying in the second half, Kane grabbing his second 10 minutes after the restart.
The England international finished with a strike from the centre of the box into the top right-hand corner, assisted by Christian Eriksen.
And on 62 minutes his hat-trick was completed, a simple close-range finish after Boruc parried A Toby Alderweireld header.
The win sees Spurs move up to sixth place, just three points off the top four, while Bournemouth teeter dangerously above the relegation zone.
The Cherries have now not won for four games and are just two points above Sunderland following their 3-0 Tyne-Wear derby win this afternoon.
