Micah Richards has until Thursday 6pm to reply to the charge |
MICAH RICHARDS has been charged with improper conduct by the FA following an incident in the tunnel after Aston Villa's game with Swansea.
The former Manchester City defender squared up to Federico Fernandez following an incident missed by referee Neil Swarbrick and was subsequently booked.
However things boiled over as the two players left the pitch after the final whistle, with the tunnel's plastic canopy visibly shaking due to the scuffle.
Stewards rushed to calm tensions down after Swansea snatched a late winner to condemn Villa to their sixth straight league defeat.

And now the FA have acted to further punish Villa, by handing Richards an improper conduct charge that he has until 6pm on Thursday to reply to.
However, there was some reprieve for the bottom club as the 27-year-old will not face any further action in relation to his yellow-card offence.
The FA studied that initial incident and decided not to take any action against either player as the panel did not find they had committed an act of violent conduct.
