Aston Villa chase ex-Everton and Man Utd boss David Moyes as Sherwood set for Swindon job
Tim Sherwood was unable to pull Aston Villa out of the relegation zone
TIM SHERWOOD was axed as Aston Villa manager on Sunday with David Moyes in the frame to resurrect his Premier League career.

And former Everton and Manchester United boss Moyes has been joined in the running for the vacant Villa hotseat by ex Arsenal defender and former Lyon boss Remi Garde.
Sherwood as shown the door after just 23 games in charge and the board moved quickly to sack him following the 2-1 home defeat to Swansea.
Sunderland's 3-0 win over Newcastle yesterday means Villa are now bottom of the table and at desperation point.

Moyes has endured a tough time in Spain managing Real Sociedad, with fans of the club calling for his head following last weekend' defeat to Atletico Madrid.
But Moyes, who would be a popular choice among sections of Villa's support, did ease the pressure yesterday by leading his side to a 4-0 win at Levante and it remains to be seen whether he would be tempted to turn his back on his Spanish adventure.
Meanwhile, Garde's odds tumbled yesterday in the race to succeed, with William Hill reporting his price had gone from 14-1 to 1/16.
Reports in France claimed Garde, who has been working as a TV pundit since his exit from Lyon last year, has already held advanced talks with Villa powerbrokers.

In December 2013, former striker Power - who played in the same Norwich team as Sherwood - said in a statement on Swindon's website: "I don't think it's any secret that Tim Sherwood is a good friend of mine and I genuinely think he is one of the most knowledgeable and forward-thinking men currently in the game."
Power took over the running of the team after manager Mark Cooper was sacked following the 2-0 defeat at Millwall nine days ago.
The Robins are struggling in League One, lying second bottom with 13 points from 15 games.
On Saturday, Sherwood strode down the touchline to the tunnel with his head deliberately raised high.
It was an almost defiant last stance from the man who clearly knew that hemight not have long after their sixth league defeat in a row.

He did his after match press requirements and there did not seem anything immediate happening when his black Mercedes made its way at 6.45.
He had an extra hour in bed, but American owner Randy Lerner decided enough was enough.
And it seems certain there willl be an FA inquiry into a mass brawl in the tunnel at the end on Saturday's match.
Villa defender Micah Richards sparked that rumpus by taking his heated exchange with Federico Fernandez into the tunnel just as he gestured he might when they clashed out on the pitch.
