Arsene Wenger reveals which Arsenal legend is the perfect role model for his youngsters
Arsene Wenger believes Robert Pires acts as a good role model for his young players
ARSENE WENGER believes his young players can learn a lot from Robert Pires.
The Frenchman made 284 appearances for the Gunners during his six-year spell that saw him win two league titles and two FA Cups.
Pires - who regularly helps out at the training ground - turns 42 this week and Wenger has hailed his influence on his young side.
The Frenchman also compared him to Mesut Ozil in his ability to make things look easy on the training field.
“The best advice Robert can give [others] is to play football [himself] because he is such a great example to watch for the young players,” Wenger told Arsenal Player.
“When he is with the first team he plays with [established] players but for the young boys who learn their trade he is remarkable because of his simplicity.
“He is similar to Ozil, he makes things look simple when sometimes others make it complicated.”
