Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger 'saddened' over Liverpool's decision to sack Brendan Rodgers
Brendan Rodgers was dismissed as Liverpool boss yesterday
ARSENE WENGER has conceded he is sad to see Brendan Rodgers leave Liverpool.

Rodgers was given the axe a few hours after his side were held to a 1-1 draw away to Everton yesterday.
Wenger meanwhile saw his side romp to a 3-0 win over Manchester United at the Emirates.
But following Rodgers' dismissal, Wenger expressed sympathy for the northern Irishman at his post-match press conference.

"I am always sad when that happens because I think he is a quality manager," Wenger said.
"Unfortunately, the pressure is always bigger on the managers and to resist the disappointment is more difficult.

"I think he was unlucky not to win the Premier League.
"He was the closest certainly to win the Premier League of all the managers who have been working for the club.
"But that's the way it goes now and I wish him good luck. I am sure he will find a job again."
