The Witcher 3 makers have given an update on those rumours surrounding an EA takeover |
The Polish studio was claimed to be in talks with EA over a publishing deal or even being bought out, the source being an apparent employee of Projekt RED.
It was claimed that Electronic Arts representatives had visited the studio and had had a meeting with their top management, citing that it must be connected with a takeover as they currently have no projects being released in time for a publishing deal.
It seems rather rash to conclude it could only be connected to this one venture, while CD Projekt RED have confirmed that their plans for the future will be revealed in March 2016.
Speaking during the latest financial conference for the studio, CEO Adam Kicinski revealed that they're ready to start the next phase following the release of the Witcher 3, as well as their successful recruitment drive.
Speaking before a Q&A session, Kicinski revealed: "In March, we are going to present our strategy for the coming years.
"As a result of the Witcher 3, we have a huge capital in trust and confidence, we have cash in our accounts, that is going up and we have loads of ideas.
"We have the financial capital and we also have the human capital, we have collected enormous human experience, expertise, knowledge and talent so it is going to be a very hot period."

Responding to a fan question on Twitter, Momot replied: Just bumped into Marcin Iwinski - it was new to him.
"I guess the "informer" has better insight than the @CDPROJEKTRED founder."
