David De Gea in line for first start of the season against Liverpool
DAVID DE GEA is set to return to Manchester United's starting XI for Saturday's visit of Liverpool after signing a new four-year contract.
 
The goalkeeper has yet to feature for the opening six fixtures because boss Louis van Gaal felt he could not focus properly.
But with a proposed , the Spaniard is being considered for the Old Trafford clash against arch-rivals .
 
When asked about his availability for Saturday's game against Liverpool, Van Gaal responded: "You shall see - you never know. 
"His head is empty now and that is important. He can focus but we have to judge him in training.
 
Michael Carrick is available despite picking up a calf injury on international duty but fellow midfielder Andreas Pereira (unspecified) and centre-back Phil Jones (thrombosis) are out.
