Sir Alex Ferguson: Why I turned down Man City striker Sergio Aguero as Man Utd boss
Sergio Aguero scored teh goal taht won Manchester City the Premier league in his first season
SIR ALEX FERGUSON has revealed he rejected the chance to sign Sergio Aguero shortly before the striker signed for rivals Manchester City.

The former Manchester United manager says he was unwilling to pay the £35million Atletico Madrid were asking for the Argentine, who joined City for a then club-record fee of £38m in 2011.
"His agent was demanding a price we were not prepared to pay," Ferguson writes in his new book, Leading.

Aguero would eventually come back to haunt Ferguson by scoring a dramatic late winner on the final day of the 2011-2012 season.
His goal against QPR denied United a second successive Premier League title but Ferguson got one over their rivals by winning the race for Arsenal's Robin van Persie later that year.

Van Persie played a huge role in United reclaiming their crown in what would prove to be Ferguson's last season in charge.
The Scot also revealed he in 2010 but was putt off after Italian contacts raised questions about his temperament.
