Roy Hodgson and his England side have successfully qualified for Euro 2016 after beating San Marino |
ROY HODGSON and his Three Lions were in Seventh heaven last night after sealing their passage to France 2016.
A 6-0 hammering of little San Marino made it seven wins out of seven in their group and qualification for next summer’s European Championships with three games to spare.
The victory was also spiced with a Wayne Rooney goal which saw him equal Sir Bobby Charlton’s all time England goal scoring record.
Hodgson said: “We're very pleased. We knew what we had to do and even had quite a good idea what the game might look like.
“What we wanted was a disciplined performance, tactically and professionally, and a victory. As it turned out, I was spoiled with a few extra goals.”
