Roman Abramovich sends message to under-pressure Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho
Jose Mourinho retains the backing of Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich
JOSE MOURINHO reportedly retains the backing of Roman Abramovich despite Chelsea's horror start to the season.

Everton beat Chelsea 3-1 on Saturday to condemn Mourinho's men to their third Premier League defeat in five games.

And the Blues boss appears to be feeling the pressure, directing a foul-mouthed barb at Toffees counterpart Roberto Martinez after the match at Goodison Park.

There have been claims of training ground bust-ups between players, while a club source has revealed 'jokes or banter' have been banned ahead of tomorrow night's (7.45pm) Champions League clash with Maccabi Tel Aviv.

However, despite Mourinho presiding over Chelsea's worst start to a season since 1988 the Portuguese tactician has been backed by owner Abramovich.

The Times report Abramovich is relaxed about the situation and will support Mourinho with funds to strengthen his squad in the January transfer window.

It is claimed that signing a holding midfielder will be a New Year priority at Stamford Bridge.
