Arsenal reportedly decided against signing Edinson Cavani because he has no sell-on value |
The Gunners are the only Premier League side not to sign an outfield player this summer.
And despite having funds available, Arsene Wenger's single purchase during this transfer window saw Petr Cech arrive from Chelsea.
While the London side were repeatedly linked with moves to bring in a marquee signing – Real Madrid ace Karim Benzema and Cavani both tipped to head to the Emirates – a deal failed to materialise before the window slammed shut at 6pm on Tuesday.
But the Daily Mirror claim Arsenal did make calls to sign frontman Cavani but decided against making an offer – because the 28-year-old has 'no sell-on value'.
