Newcastle 1 - Watford 2: Odion Ighalo brace piles pressure on Steve McClaren
Odion Ighalo scored twice to earn a famous win for Watford
ODION IGHALO scored twice as Watford earned their second successive victory and piled pressure on winless Newcastle.

Ighalo scored twice in the first-half to give Watford a deserved lead at the break as a wasteful Newcastle spurned a number of opportunities infront of goal.
Daryl Janmaat pulled a goal back after the break for Newcastle but the Magpies couldn't find an equaliser and remain in the bottom three.

In a lively opening it was the home side who had the best chance. Watford keeper Heurelho Gomes made a hash of a cross from the right after it deflected off one of his defenders, but Papiss Cisse couldn't convert with the net gaping.
And Steve McClaren's side were made to pay when they gave the ball away in their own half a minute later. A swift Watford move led to Ighalo firing in a low shot which squeezed inside Tim Krul's near post.
Newcastle missed a number of good opportunites to level the score but it was Watford who scored again. A long ball was collected by Troy Deeney who set Ighalo through on goal, and he rounded Krul to grab his second of the game.
