Metal Gear Solid 5 is for server maintenance |
The optional Forward Operating Base multiplayer base mode has been the main part of The Phantom Paid being affected by these issues, with Metal Gear Online not set to launch until October, 2015.
Players will be able to use FOB mode to expand and generate extra resources that can be used in the single-player campaign, while also having the choice of attacking other user's bases online.
Konami has already confirmed that FOB One will be a freebie, while the second will cost around 1000 Mother Base coins to build.
This is where microtransactions come in, players will be able to earn MB coins through completing tasks in-game, or can choose to purchase them, much in the sameway as GTA 5's shark card system works.
