Allan Rodrigues de Souza has joined Liverpool today |
NEWS NEWS BLOG SPORT brings you the latest news from Anfield.
Liverpool have announced the signing of Brazilian teenager Allan Rodrigues de Souza from Internacional.
The Reds submitted the deal sheet with the Premier League before the 6pm transfer deadline on Tuesday and completed the move within the extra two hours they were given.
Allan is understood to have cost around £500,000 and has immediately been loaned out to Finish side Seinajoen Jalkapallokerho until January.
But Liverpool have been dealt a potential blow ahead of their clash with Manchester United on Saturday 12 September.
Christian Benteke has suffered a thigh injury and has been ruled out of international action.
Christian Benteke has picked up a knock |
Belgium play Bosnia on Thursday night, although there is hope he may be ready for Sunday's clash with Cyprus.
But Brendan Rodgers would prefer his £32.5m hit man to have the week off to fully recover ahead of the big clash with United.
There is also expected to be an update of Daniel Sturridge's fitness in the next 24 hours.
Sturridge returned to training at Melwood last week but whether he will be ready or not remains to be seen.
And former Tottenham and QPR boss Harry Redknapp has slammed Liverpool saying he thinks it's the worst squad the Anfield club have had in years.
Liverpool sit seventh after four games with seven points but were beaten by West Ham 3-0 at Anfield last weekend and face Manchester United next.
"I think it's the worst Liverpool team I have seen in years," Redknapp said. "They look bang average. They are lucky to have any points."
He added: "Bournemouth should have beaten them.
"They got a wonder goal at Stoke. OK, they played all right first half at Arsenal.
"I think they will do well to finish in the top five. I am not with Liverpool at all this year."
And finally Real Madrid rejected a late move for Alberto Moreno.
The left-back was reportedly offered to the La Liga side on deadline day.
Moreno has fallen behind Joe Gomez in Rodgers' pecking order, despite the youngster being right-footed.
