Hector Moreno wished Luke Shaw a speedy recovery but insists he got the ball in the challenge |
Shaw went down under the challenge of Moreno as United took on PSV in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
The 20-year-old received on-field treatment for around 10 minutes before going off on a stretcher while reeling in pain.
He was taken to hospital where they confirmed the double break and immediately underwent surgery.
Moreno is understood to have visited the stricken star on the day he had a second operation, and posted a heart-warming message on Twitter.
"First of all I wanna send my strenght (sic) to @LukeShaw23 I've been through this before and I know how it feels.. So I hope a fast recovery for you and see u again on the field. All the best," he said.

The Mexico international earlier defended the challenge, insisting he got the ball.“No, no, I got the ball,” he told Dutch newspaper Eindhoven Dagblad.
“I looked back to see where the ball went and it was above the goal.
"He was lying on the pitch in a lot of pain and then I realised something was wrong, that something really bad had happened."
