Cesc Fabregas could be dropped by Joe Mourinho after a poor start to the season |
Diego Costa, Cesc Fabregas and Branislav Ivanovic are all set for the chop according to the London Evening Standard.
Chelsea have endured an awful start to their title defence in the Premier League, claiming just four points from a possible 15, and already find themselves 11 points behind leaders Manchester City.
Although many players are lacking form and confidence, Costa, Fabregas, and Ivanovic are most under threat as Mourinho attempts to relieve some of the pressure surrounding him with a victory.
Fabregas featured in all six of Chelsea's Champions League group games last year, Ivanovic was only dropped once qualification to the last 16 had been secured, and Costa played in every group game he was fit for.
Ivanovic could be replaced by £17million summer signing Abdul Baba Rahman, while Oscar looks set to come in for Fabregas.
Either Radamel Falcao or Loic Remy will lead the line instead of Costa as Chelsea look to start their European campaign off with a bang.
