Jose Mourinho (left) was critical of his medical staff entering the pitch against Swansea last month |
JOSE MOURINHO is unlikely to have a case to answer over a claim of using sexist and abusive language towards first-team doctor Eva Carneiro.
The Football Association is taking seriously a complaint against the Chelsea boss.
But it is understood the Chelsea manager will likely avoid a reprimand unless new evidence comes to light.
Mourinho vented his fury at Carneiro and head physio Jon Fearn when they ran onto the pitch to treat Eden Hazard during the Premier League champions' 2-2 draw with Swansea last month.
Hazard was not hurt but had to be withdrawn to the sidelines because he was treated, which left Chelsea temporarily down to nine men.
Mourinho, who was critical of the pair afterwards, is thought to have said "filho da puta", which translates as "son of a b****", on the touchline in footage which was soon available online.
It is understood the complaint received by the FA claims Mourinho said "filha da puta", which translates as "daughter of a whore".
The complainant was implying Mourinho was referring to Carneiro directly after she followed Fearn on to the field to treat Eden Hazard, but the comment has already been examined.
Chelsea had already had Thibaut Courtois sent off and Mourinho was frustrated to be reduced to nine men as any player receiving treatment has to leave the field of play before returning.
Meanwhile, reports of Carneiro and Fearn returning to the Chelsea bench are believed to be premature.
Chelsea will not comment on an internal staffing matter, but Carneiro has not reported for duty since her reprimand, while Fearn has continued to work.
The Blues play Arsenal at Stamford Bridge on Saturday and it is expected the staff on the bench will be unchanged.
