Javier Hernandez ended a four-year spell at the club to join Bayer Leverkusen |
JAVIER HERNANDEZ has snubbed Louis van Gaal in his parting message from Old Trafford.
The striker signed for Bundesliga giants Bayer Leverkusen this summer for a reported fee of £7.3million.
And the Mexico international took to Instagram to make his final goodbyes - notably praising former boss Sir Alex Ferguson and snubbing Van Gaal.
He wrote: "I want to thank Sir Alex Ferguson & Jim Lawlor, the club staff, all the players I played with.
"But specially I want to thank all the Manchester United fans in the UK and all around the world for the incredible support I've had this past 4 years and all the best wishes they have for me in my new chapter."
The 27-year-old reportedly had a poor relationship with the Dutchman, which in part led to his Real Madrid loan and eventual departure this summer.
And Mexico legend Hugo Sanchez has come to the defence of Chicharito, labelling the United boss a 'scoundrel'.
He said: "Van Gaal made a bad decision – and it's not one he's done for the first time, he's done it 50,000 times."
And when asked about the manager's reaction to Hernandez's Champions League miss against Bruges, he replied: "It was a bad game for Chicharito but any player in the world can do that.
"Van Gaal is a scoundrel; hopefully those in England realise he is a bad person and treats his players poorly.
"He should be professional. The players deserve professional and humane treatment."
