JOSE MOURINHO was in defiant mood as he strongly defended his Chelsea team after they lost 3-1 to Everton.
Steven Naismith came off the bench after nine minutes to score a hat-trick and hand Mourinho's men their third defeat of the Premier League season.
It means after five games they have already equaled the number of losses they suffered last season.
But Mourinho strongly defended his players, proclaiming that they are still champions.
He said: "The results are going wrong. Too wrong for our quality and too wrong for our statures.
"And too wrong for what the players deserve.
"The players deserve much more than what they are getting.
"But now it's easy for everyone to criticise me and and the players and everything is wrong and we don't play well.
"I completely disagree.
"I am a champion. The players are the champions.
"The way they are playing is not so bad as the results but in every game everything goes against [us]."
