Harry Kane scored his first goal of the season against Manchester City |
HARRY KANE has hailed Tottenham's performance as Spurs came from behind to beat Manchester City 4-1 at White Hart Lane.
Spurs went behind after Kevin De Bruyne opened the scoring for the visitors, however Eric Dier equalised on the stroke of half-time.
Goals from Toby Alderweireld, Kane and Erik Lamela secured the win for Spurs.
"It was a real statement of what we can do," Kane said.
"We got an early goal in the second half and built on that."
Kane's strike to give Spurs a 3-1 lead over City was his first goal of the season.
"It went in very slowly," he said of his goal. "Delighted to score but it doesn't stop here. What a performance as a team.
"We've shown what kind of team we can be."
