Phil Neville is currently the assistant manager of Valencia
FORMER Manchester United and Everton defender Phil Neville is keen to move into a permanent coaching role.

The 38-year-old is currently assistant manager of Valencia having retired in June 2013 following an eight-year spell at the Toffees.
Neville enjoyed a short spell as United's assistant coach under David Moyes before he was sacked after just 10 months in charge.

Having worked under one of the greatest managers in football, Sir Alex Ferguson - in his time at United, the former defender feels he is nearly ready to take the step into management.
"This feels like my last year at university," he told the Daily Mail. "The final bit of learning and experience I need. Now I am reaching the point where I would like to be a No 1.

"My passion is coaching and I see myself more as a head coach with a more continental approach, in charge of football, running the training programme, the players.
"People always view United negatively, but from a purely selfish point of view it wasn't negative. Coaching-wise, it gave me everything I wanted.

"I was working with some of the world's best players. I learnt so much. Now I am learning in a different environment."
Neville made over 500 Premier League appearances for both clubs as well as making 59 caps for his national side.
