Brendan Rodgers is undermining himself, according to Johnny Giles |
JOHNNY GILES thinks under-fire Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is undermining himself and claims he should step down as boss if he can't handle the pressure.
Rodgers has hit out at the press and a clutch of former players, who he believes are conspiring to oust him from his job at Anfield.
However, Leeds legend and former Manchester United midfielder Giles insists Rodgers is doing a good enough of job of putting himself under pressure.
"Brendan Rodgers doesn't need any dark forces conspiring to do him down. He's doing a very good job of undermining himself," Giles wrote in his column for the Irish Herald.

"The mere fact that he would achieve for the same excuse Jose Mourinho used last season to create a siege mentality within his squad tells me that he is not up to the task of managing Liverpool.
"Rodgers should know that the manager of a big club like Liverpool must take speculation, pressure and criticism in his stride.
"If he can't do that he shouldn't be there."
Rodgers has come under increased pressure after his side's poor start to the season.
Both Jurgen Klopp and Carlo Ancelotti have been strongly linked with his position if the Northern Irishman is given the chop.
