Adrian Mutu is targeting a return to the Romania squad
ADRIAN MUTU has stated that he wants to impress at new club Pune City in an attempt to return to the Romania squad.
 
The 36-year-old striker has twice been banned for failed drugs tests whilst playing for Fiorentina and Chelsea.
However, he has since got his game back on track with stints in France, India and Romania and is now targeting a place in their Euro 2016 squad.
 
And Romania boss Anghel Iordanescu could end his two-year international exile and recall him for next summer's tournament in France, providing he plays regularly.
Mutu told Sport360: "The Romania coach has told me that if I continue playing football even after ISL then he will consider me for the European Championship next year.

"It's a huge motivation for me to keep going and I am taking it very seriously."
Mutu has represented Romania at the 2000 and 2008 European Championships and has scored 35 goals in 77 appearances for his country.
