Confirmed: FIFA announce dates for 2022 World Cup in Qatar
FIFA press conference in Zurich was cancelled today
FIFA have announced the dates for the 2022 World Cup which is scheduled to be held in Qatar.

The 22nd World Cup will be staged from November 21 to December 18 in 2022.
FIFA's executive committee confirmed the dates which means it will be the first ever winter World Cup.
The change from the traditional summer tournament is to avoid Qatar's heat.
The event will take place over 28 days, which is four less than usual.
It's understood a shorter tournament was approved to lessen the disruption to leagues like the Premier League who will have to shut down mid-season.

A FIFA press conference in Zurich with president Sepp Blatter was cancelled today just minutes before it was due to start.
It was then announced that the meeting will take place in December.
Football's world governing body have been embroiled in controversy following the arrest of several officials on money laundering and other corruption-related charges.
Secretary General Jerome Valcke was suspended over allegations that he was part of a scheme selling World Cup tickets for up to five times their value.
In June, Blatter announced he was going to step down as president days after being re-elected for a fifth term.
