| Christian Benteke has scored just once for Liverpool this season |
LIVERPOOL legend Graeme Souness believes summer signing Christian Benteke holds the key to success at Anfield this season.
The Belgium international has scored just once in four outings since his £32.5million move from Aston Villa.
And Souness, who racked up 359 appearances for the Reds, believes the 24-year-old striker has the potential to lead his former club to glory, with Manchester United up next.
"He has the potential to be an absolute star," Souness told Sky Sports on Benteke.
"If he's fully fired up and motivated, he could take the Premier League by storm and be a superstar at Liverpool.
"But if you have a Benteke who picks and chooses when he plays well then it might not be good enough.
"A lot of Liverpool's success this season will rely on Benteke."
