Asmir Begovic admits all the blame for Chelsea's poor start should be directed at the players

ASMIR BEGOVIC has revealed the Chelsea players know they are entirely to blame for recent poor results.

 

The defending champions have made their worst start to a season in 29 years, floundering just above the relegation zone in seventeenth place.

Manchester City have already opened up an 11-point lead at the other end of the Premier League and the finger have already been pointed at Jose Mourinho.

 

However, Begovic admits the players take sole responsibility for the Blues shocking form and claims the manager is entirely backing them to turn things around.

He told reporters: “Absolutely. Everyone looks at himself, first and foremost, to see what he can do better.

 

"It's difficult to pinpoint one thing we could have done better, but we look at ourselves. We have to work harder, play better and the results will improve.

"The manager has led from the front from the first day. He's as motivated as ever. He's prepared well, but things have not gone our way. We're not going to feel sorry for ourselves. We have confidence things will turn around.”
