Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been offered to Arsenal, according to reports |
NEWS NEWS BLOG SPORT brings you all the latest transfer news from the Emirates Stadium.
Paris Saint-Germain have offered Arsenal the chance to sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic, according to the Evening Standard.
Reports claim the Gunners had made enquiries to sign PSG stars Edinson Cavani and Adrien Rabiot but were told they were unavailable.
However, in a shock turn of events, the Ligue 1 champions offered their Swedish talisman as an alternative.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is understood to be in Paris at the moment to try and finalise a deal for Cavani and Rabiot.
But that looks increasingly unlikely and Ibrahimovic is now the most realistic option if Wenger wants to push through a late deal for a striker.
They will have to act quickly, however, with the transfer window now officially shut.
Numerous deals will still get pushed over the line and Arsenal have previous, having signed Andrey Arshavin long after the deadline in 2009.
Elsewhere, reports have recently emerged suggesting Manchester United tried to sign Marco Reus from Borussia Dortmund at the 11th hour.
Reus is a long-term target for Arsenal and United had considered stealing into sign him
However, they are understood to have been put off by an asking price of close to £60m.
