Manchester City splashed out £49million on Raheem Sterling |
JENS LEHMANN has hit out at the large transfer fees floating around in the Premier League.
The German spent five years with the Gunners and reached a Champions League final during his spell there.
Around a £1billion was spent by top-flight clubs during the summer window
But Lehmann insists he is worried by the over-inflated valuations of players.
"English teams pay too high prices for players, to the benefit of other leagues," the former Stuttgart and Milan goalkeeper told Spox, as quoted by Goal.
Jens Lehmann is concerned by the money spent in the transfer window |
"A new player costs €20 or €40 million?
"The other leagues take the money gratefully, knowing it's far too much.
"That's complete nonsense. You can't say that they are shopping cleverly."
