Andy Carroll is reported to be a shock transfer target for Sevilla |
ANDY CARROLL has emerged as a shock transfer target for La LIga outfit Sevilla, according to reports in Spain.
Spanish newspaper AS claim the Europa League holders are keen on a loan deal for the West Ham striker as they look for a replacement for Carlos Bacca.
Bacca joined AC Milan earlier in the transfer window for around £20million.
Carroll, 24, is reportedly seen as a natural successor to former star Fernando Llorente, who left the club for Juventus in 2013.
Reports suggest Sevilla have been in the market for a similar forward ever since and the Hammers hitman could fit the mould.
Carroll could link up with former Arsenal man Jose Antonio Reyes in Spain |
It is thought he would be the perfect foil for former Arsenal man Jose Antonio Reyes, who Carroll could join in the La Liga giants' attack.
Despite their interest, Llorente remains their preferred option but they could raid the Hammers if that one doesn't come off.
Carroll's historic problems with injury might also put them off, with the England international still nursing a freak injury sustained after putting his trainers on.
