MANCHESTER UNITED kicked off the 2015/16 campaign perfectly with a 1-0 win over Tottenham.
Wayne Rooney came close to netting in the opening game of the season before Kyle Walker bundled inadvertently into his own net.
He said after the match: "Today was all about the three points. Pre-season was relatively short compared to previous ones. "We’re still working. It was a big victory for us today." The win was in stark contrast to Louis van Gaal's opener last term, when the Red Devils lost to Swansea at Old Trafford.
And the captain admits while the game was tough, it was a 'big victory' even if the level of quality wasn't quite there.
