Arsene Wenger says he will make signings before deadline day if they are "exceptional" deals.
The manager spoke after Arsenal's 1-0 victory over Newcastle today.
"We are open and we are in the transfer market," he said.
"If we find an exceptional player in any sector, we will do it.
"At the moment I don’t know if something will happen or not."
Arsenal reportedly made contact with Andriy Yarmolenko's agent over a swoop for the Ukraine midfielder.
Tony Pulis has also discussed his transfer plans, having revealed Jonny Evans will join West Brom from Manchester United tomorrow.
Pulis confirmed the move after the Baggies beat Stoke 1-0 at the Britannia.
"We're hopeful we'll get it over the line tonight or in the morning," he said.
"We have to bring in some players and we're working hard on that.
"Jonny has got great pedigree, he would be a great signing for us."
Evans' £6million move will likely push Joleon Lescott out the West Brom exit door, with Aston Villa set to sign the centre-back for £2m.
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho says he doesn't care about making any more signings.
The Blues bought in Pedro and Baba Rahman late in the transfer window - having had a relatively quiet summer.
And, talking after his side's shock 2-1 home defeat to Crystal Palace today, the boss said no more moves will take place.
"For me the window is closed," he said. "I lost the game, my team has four points from four matches.
"I'm a happy boy, I'm not a new kid in town. The last thing I'm going to do now is speak about my players.
"I don't think (signings will be made) and I don't care.
"I am the coach, it's my responsibility and I have to try to get the best out of the players I have."
