Besiktas have confirmed that talks are underway over the transfer of Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva.
The Reds have set a £8m price tag on the 28-year-old but the Turkish side are reluctant to pay the valuation.
However the Liverpool Echo claim a deal for a season-long loan could be done and Besiktas transfer committee head Erdal Torunogullari is quoted as saying by Lig TV: "Lucas is a player on our shortlist, talks are ongoing."
Pedro rejected a move to Manchester United because he did not want to live in the north.
Chelsea confirmed the £21.4m signing of the 28-year-old after he was heavily linked with a move to United.
But Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo say Pedro and his family 'preferred to move to London' rather than living up north.
Spurs head coach Mauricio Pochettino has refused to discuss his club's attempts to sign West Brom's Saido Berahino.
Baggies chairman Jeremy Peace revealed he told Spurs chairman Daniel Levy the England international is not for sale after a £15m was made.
"I am not going to speak about our private business," the Spurs boss said.
"It's obvious we need to add some more in our offensive positions. We have different targets but this is the target.
"We identify our targets and the chairman is working very hard to bring new players in this position.
