Chelsea are expected to secure a double deal to bring John Stones and Paul Pogba to Stamford Bridge within days.
The Daily Mirror claim Jose Mourinho will make a fresh bid to land Pogba before the window closes on September 1.
While the Premier League champions are said to be in talks with Everton to sign John Stones.
If the Blues secure both moves, it will take their summer spending to a whopping £159million.
Arsenal will reportedly hold off signing Gonzalo Higuain until January, according to reports in Spain.
The Gunners are keen to bolster their firepower, however with a £59m price-tag slapped on by Napoli, it seems Arsene Wenger has been priced-out for Higuain at the moment.
As a result, the London side are said to be concentrating on bringing PSG ace Edinson Cavani to the Emirates during this window before making a fresh attempt to land Higuain in January.
Manchester United keeper Victor Valdes has agreed terms to join Turkish giants Besiktas, according to the Guardian.
Valdes has been frozen out by manager Louis van Gaal after refusing to play for the reserves.
However, it seems the former Barcelona shot-stopper has now been given a reprieve after Besiktas coach Senol Gunes gave the green light to sign the 33-year-old.
