The French midfielder completed his move to St James' Park from Marseille yesterday and admitted Arsene Wenger once attempted to bring him to the Emirates.
"Two or three seasons ago, Arsene Wenger perhaps made an approach with Arsenal, but apart from Arsenal, Newcastle are the only other club who have made an approach for me in the past," he said.
 
Eden Hazard says he can't wait to play with new team-mate Pedro.
The Spaniard joined Chelsea for £21.4m on Thursday and Hazard says he wants to learn from one of the best.
He said: "When you play with Chelsea, you want to play with big players.
"He (Pedro) can bring a new experience. He is very good, fast, I want to play with him.
"I want to learn, I'm still young, I want to be one of the very best and I learn from the best."
 
West Brom are targeting Manchester United defender Jonny Evans after missing out on Spurs centre back Federico Fazio.
Fazio was on the verge of joining the Baggies but the fell through and Tony Pulis has turned his attention to Evans according to The Sun.
The Northern Irish defender is out of favour at United with Daley Blind and Chris Smalling the first choice pairing.
